Finance Doctoral Students Association of The PhD Project

invites your participation in our upcoming conference:

Research in Action: Bringing Research to the Classroom and the Profession

Monterey Bay, California

FDSA -June 13-15, 2014

WFA – June 15-18, 2014

Call for Papers and Abstracts

Deadline for submissions: April 22, 2014

This year we have TWO opportunities for you to showcase your ideas to a captive audience of your fellow FDSA members!

Student Presentation Session I: The Best Paper Competition is back! All finance subject areas are welcome. 2 or 3 completed papers will be selected for a seminar style presentation where faculty member judges will choose a winner. Add that to your CV!

Student Presentation Session II: We are trying something a little different this year… we want to give the newer ideas a chance for presentation and peer feedback. For this session we will choose 4 or 5 abstracts for proposal presentations where a panel of faculty (and the audience) will provide valuable feedback to your research objectives. This is a more informal session and is meant as a thought-sharing forum for newly formed ideas and potential papers.

Please submit your completed papers by April 22, 2014 (midnight EST). The FDSA planning committee will evaluate all submissions and choose participants for each session. You will be notified if you are chosen by the end of May.

Please send your completed paper and/or abstracts (pdf format) to Jamie Weathers, at j.weathers@me.com. State “Research in Action” in the subject line of the e-mail message.

See you in Monterey Bay!

During the holiday season, we give thanks for all of our blessings and share our good fortune. Thank you for being a part of The PhD Project … as a result of your hard work and dedication throughout the year, we are able to achieve our goal of a more diverse academic environment and corporate world.

The PhD Project would not be able to sustain our network without the generous corporate, academic and individual support that we receive. Please consider making a donation before December 31, 2011 at: www.phdproject.org/donate.asp

Best wishes for a wonderful holiday season, and an exciting new year from The PhD Project.
